Well, hello again race fans! Spring City Raceway sure was excited to have the fans out on Sunday due to a minor set back of a rain-out on Saturday, but hey! A rain-out is to be expected during the rainy season of March and April, so SCR officials was prepared with a back-up plan of practicing on Sunday. The gates opened up at 12:00 p.m., and the fans filled the grandstands in excitement to see what the drivers and his or her crew members had changed over the long winter break. The pit areas were filled with drivers of all kinds of cars, from mini stocks to late models, all with the same things on his or her minds, “Let’s see what this machine will do, and let’s see what adjustments we need to make.”
The Bull Ring had an awesome turn out with multiple cars in each division. Some drivers brought two cars, one for two separate divisions, which is fantastic! The track saw a lot of dust on Sunday, but no need to worry, SCR officials are working hard to get this fixed and taken care of. We certainly enjoyed seeing all of you guys and gals on Sunday, and we are especially excited to have all of you out and more on race day. So, get your sunglasses, your sunscreen, and your lawn chair, and head out to Spring City Raceway on Friday, April 6, 2012, and see what all the excitement is about! See you all soon!
While practice is still scheduled for tomorrow (March 24th), an announcement will be made tomorrow morning concerning the status of practice. Should it rain out tomorrow’s practice, we will move our practice to Sunday. However, with moving to Sunday, we’ll also adjust the opening and start times.
If we practice Saturday: Gates open at 11:00am, cars hit the track at 12:00pm and run until 6:00pm
If we practice Sunday: Gates open at 12:00pm, cars hit the track at 1:00pm and run until 6:00pm
