2013 Spring City Raceway
Protest Fees
Visual - $25.00 - must be done prior to the race before your class gets onto the track. Track retains 100%
$250.00 to pull a cylinder head. Track retains $50.00
$600.00 to go all the way through to the oil pan. Track retains $100.00
There will be a $100.00 protest fee to pull intake, track will retain a $25.00 tech fee.
Any class that is limited by a C.I. or a C.C rule will have a P&G protest rule. P&G protest will be $75 with $25 going to the track. Track reserves the right to P&G at any time. fwd/pure mini --- see rules for your protest..
The track reserves the right to check cars at any time without payment of fee. Any protest (other than a visual) must be made within five minutes after completion of the feature race for that class. To protest, the driver must be in the top-five and on the lead lap. Only the driver will be able to put up money to protest. (NO CREW MEMBERS, CAR OWNERS, ETC. WILL BE ALLOWED TO PUT UP MONEY TO PROTEST, DRIVER ONLY.)
ONLY CARS FINISHING IN THE TOP THREE MAY BE PROTESTED, AND ONLY BY THE DRIVERS THAT FINISH IN THE TOP FIVE. YOU MAY COUNTER-PROTEST A CAR THAT FINISHED BEHIND YOU, BUT ONLY IF THAT DRIVER IS THE ONE THAT PROTESTED YOUR CAR. IF THE COUNTER-PROTESTED CAR REFUSES, ORIGINAL PROTESTED CAR MAY CHOOSE EITHER A) PROVE LEGALITY OR B) REFUSE. IF SAID DRIVER REFUSES, DRIVER WILL STILL EARN MONIES AND POINTS, HOWEVER WILL FORFEIT ALL PROTEST MONIES. EXAMPLE: IF DRIVER B FINISHES 2ND AND PROTESTS DRIVER A WHO WON, AND DRIVER A LODGES A COUNTER PROTEST, AND DRIVER B REFUSES, THEN DRIVER A CAN CHOOSE TO EITHER PROVE LEGALITY OR REFUSE. DRIVER B WOULD LOSE ALL MONIES AND POINTS EARNED FOR THAT NIGHT, HOWEVER, IF DRIVER A CHOOSES NOT TO PROVE LEGALITY, DRIVER A WOULD GET ALL MONIES AND POINTS EARNED, BUT FORFEIT THE PROTEST MONEY EARNED. IF DRIVER A PROVES LEGAL, ALL PROTEST MONEY MINUS TECH FEE WOULD BE AWARDED.
You must have the protest money, in cash, to the Race Director or tech director within the five minutes from completion of the race. Once protest money has been paid, protest cannot be withdrawn, only disallowed by an official. All protest decisions will be made by track officials and are final. Track officials have the authority to hold protested parts, for further evaluation and testing, for two business days, before making a decision. If a decision cannot be made immediately, payoff for that class will not be made until the next week's event. During tear down, only the driver and two crew members on the car being inspected are permitted to be in the teardown area along with spring city officials.
When the protested part is ready for checking, the driver and one crew member from the protesting team will be permitted to witness the inspection.
If the protested car is illegal, the protest fee will be returned minus the tech fee. If protested car is legal, that car receives the protest fee minus the tech fee. Anyone refusing to cooperate during the inspection will be considered illegal. Failure to comply with any protest will result in the car being declared illegal.
When any car is found illegal in the inspection or protest following a race, that car and driver will forfeit all moneys and points accumulated that day/night. If found illegal a second time, or for a blatant violation of rules, driver is subject to a one or two race suspension depending on the severity of the violation. Track officials will make final decision.
Any discrepancies in the finishing order must be taken up with the Race Director within ten minutes from the time the finishes are posted.
